I have heard the romanticised term of “hopeless romantics”. I don’t understand that why they are called so because they are the ones who are hopeful of their love being requited by their beloved even when the circumstances seem unfavorable.
Are they really hopeless then? Shouldn’t they be called “hopeful romantics” instead? Hope is optimistic and these romantics are sure about receiving a positive outcome. They certainly are full of hope. How can we term them “hopeless” when they are not deprived of hope?
