Vacuum

This is a vacuum— this place.
Here, everything is a haze.
It slowly takes
one into the state of daze.

The mind is blocked.
It can’t react when I’m shocked
or happy or sad or flabbergasted.
It can’t recall what it regretted.

Here, there is no sound
or air to breathe.
One cannot feel the touch
but is only able to see.

One can only observe
and is void of action.
There is nothing to hurt
but the body feels the need for protection.

But the vacuum is also the place
where, though at first, one feels helpless,
but later, it reveals the best of our abilities
which make the impossibles turn into possibilities.
